Snetterton double-header - 22nd & 23rd May
Peter Morris, Ian White & Chris Egginton battle for the lead at Snetterton
Michelin Porsche Club Championship - Rounds 4 & 5: Snetterton saw the battles of Silverstone resume. Peter Morris (968CS) had an excellent start ahead of the 911 3.2's of Ian White and Craig Rapp. However a throttle problem retired Rapp on lap 3. Chris Egginton (968CS) and John Williams (3.2) were soon pushing Morris and White, regularly trading places during the 30 minute race. In race 1 Egginton clinched his second win of the season, with Morris and White taking 2nd & 3rd. In Sundays race, top positions were reversed with Morris taking 1st and Egginton 2nd. White picked up 3rd despite having to pit to remove his rear screen which had shattered. John Williams was spun out on the first lap, but managed a respectable 4th place. |
In Class 2 Rob Williams, Tom Segrue and Richard Lambert had two fantastically closely fought races, which resulted in Williams' Carrera picking up two Class wins, with Segrue 2nd and Lambert 3rd in both races. Fraser Robertson (944) continued his domination of Class 3 with a win in both events.

The Class 2 cars of Tony Brown, Henry Firman and Gerald Harrison battle behind Steve Donovan's GT3 RS.
Michelin Porsche Open Series Rounds 4 & 5: After picking up his 4th win of the season in Saturdays race, Richard Chamberlains run of success came to an end at Snetterton with a drive shaft failure at beginning of the second race. Craig Rapp's Class 2 dominating GT3 seized the opportunity and took the win; 9.5 seconds ahead of Steve Donovan's Class 1 GT3 RS.
Behind Rapp, the Class 2 GT3's of Nick Staveley, Henry Firman, Gerald Harrison and Tony Brown (964 RSR) enjoyed a couple of great close races. While in Class 3 Gordon Matthew (944 turbo) won race 1 and Chris Egginton (968CS) picked up the win in race 2. Alex Eacock continued his domination of the Class 4 944's with another couple of race wins after some good close racing with El-Akabi's RS.

Snetterton picture galleries The Porsche Club and Porsche Open picture galleries are now finally updated with a wonderful selection of qualifying and race photographs, along with a few paddock photos to remind you who was up to what! We had a bumper collection of images to sort through from our Team photographer Keith Neilson, around 1,000 from the weekend, and we've worked hard to get as many of these as possible onto the site. We hope you'll enjoy looking through.
