| Snetterton double-header - 2nd/3rd August |
|
Michelin Porsche Club Championship:
Hash Brown for Saturday brunch and Salmon for Sunday lunch... Tony and Mike take a win each in the Class 1 Porsche Club double-header at Snetterton this weekend. The two Club races saw some fierce battles throughout the grid, with Class 1 being challenged by all of the top four drivers of Brown, Salmon, Broster and White. Class 2 saw Lambert taking a well deserved win on first race whilst Rothwell, who had lead both races had a mis-firing problem which denied him a win. Paul Coombs in his 944 took the Class win in race 2 on the last corner when Tom McHugh over shot Russells.
Michelin Porsche Open Series: Nick James took his first win on the road from Class 2, in what was to be a tail of to starts for race one [read Richard Chamberlains report for an insight on the drama]. Race two saw Chamberlain back on winning form without any competition as the 3 other cars in Class 1 had their weekends racing ended in earlier mishap. Kevin Harrison had his hopes of a race win shredded as his tyre exploded at 130 mph on the last lap, following contact with James during overtaking on the previous lap. Class 3 honours went to Peter Morris who took wins in both rounds from Archer and Firman respectively.
